Legit Sh*t 12
We’ve arrived at Number 12! May I suggest buying one item off of every Legit Sh*t post to celebrate your very own 12 days of Christmas in July?
Olaplex No. 3 and No. 6: First off, we are gonna touch on a few hair products. I briefly discussed these in my transformation video, but I want to delve into them more today. Not to get too infomercial-ly here, but Olaplex No. 1 and No. 2 are part of a patented hair system originally only used by salons to keep hair healthy during the hair coloring process. I don’t color my hair and I only have access to the retail Olaplex products, but these puppies (No. 3 and No. 6) are still patented and really do help my dry hair. To simplify things, the system is supposed to create healthy bonds within your hair which results in shinier, healthier, softer tresses. For No.3 you use it in the shower before applying your shampoo and conditioner as normal. My favorite way to apply it is to just get my hair wet, wring it out, put No 3 in, put it in a towel for as long as I can stand while I sit on my couch and watch trash tv and then get back in the shower and rinse it and wash as normal. The only downside is the container is TINY and you are supposed to soak your whole head with it. At $28 a pop, I don’t use this as much as I would like. BUT, for No. 6 you just need a miniscule amount on damp hair pre-styling and again, it just keeps things under control and improves my blow-outs. Since it is also $28 it’s more bang for your buck, but using these together is a treat.

A Revlon Knock-off 2-in-1 Blowdryer: So this is officially called the
AOIEORD Dry & Straighten & Curl in One Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer, but it’s definitely a rip off of this Revlon product. Recently, I swear every blog and publication I follow has talked about various brands of 2 in 1 brush/blow dryers. I was skeptical. These aren’t really anything new, and if I have gone this long without using one, why start now? Well I was dead wrong. Because so far, I love this thing. It may not last long (per some of the reviews) but as of now I’m living for it. I’ve never really perfected the art of a round brush, but this combined with the Olaplex products–ohh girl! get ready to feel like you are fresh outta the DryBar chair!

SmartMouth Travel Packs: Shout out to my friend Kristin for these! We were in Miami once and she gave me one to try–because let’s be real, I’ll try just about anything. At first I was repulsed (honestly, looking back on it, I think I only poured one side of the solution into my mouth leading to a straight mouthful of zinc), but ultimately I was intrigued and found myself buying more of them at Walgreens. This is another patented product. Manifestation is real y’all and so is science! Should I put that on shirts? To really dumb down the “science,” basically when you open the packet and pour it in the 2 solutions mix and the zinc ions (whatever the f*ck that is) are activated and aid in sulphur elimination. When used on a regular basis, this mouthwash (which also comes in a standard bottle) helps to keep any bad breath at bay for up to 12 hours. Ok, I really am sounding like an infomercial now, but give these a try! Bonus: they are TSA approved.
