Beautylish Lucky Bag 2019 Review
I actually wasn’t going to get a Beautylish Lucky Bag this year, but clearly my willpower lacks and my consumerism roars right after Christmas and I couldn’t resist. But also it just feels like a tradition at this point, and I love a tradition. But to shake it up this year, I also did an unboxing video showing you exactly what I got! But if your more of a text person, I also detail everything below.
First of all my previous reviews are here and here. If you aren’t familiar with the Lucky Bag, Beautylish offers them each year on the day after Christmas. It’s based on a Japanese tradition and these bags have a random assortment of beauty products sold by Beautylish. Get on Beautylish’s email list so you can get the updates and early access for the 2020 Lucky Bag. They always offer the Original (which is what I got and cost $75+$10 shipping) and the XL Bag–which sells out super quickly.. It costs $150. They also added two other options this year: a fully Jeffree Star bag and a charity option where with the purchase of a bag two bags would be donated to a children’s hospital. You will also have an option of choosing Fair to Medium or Dark to Deep.

The Regular bags are guaranteed to have over $150 worth of products. My past two years, I’ve got my bags in early January but this year shipping was pushed back and my bag arrived on January 25. Since BL is located in San Francisco, it always seems like the West coast gets their bags first and I always get mine on the late side. I know this because I can’t resist stalking other people’s unboxings. My box shipped on January 19, weighed 1.6 pounds and arrived on January 25.
I have not got the most exciting Bags the past 2 years, but I appreciate BL as a brand: they ship promptly and package their items with a care I have not seen any other provider do. And the fun of the Bags is that it’s a surprise! Yeah you might get stuff you don’t really want or need, but there is always a chance you get could get an extra lucky bag that includes a BL gift card or a set that far exceeds the value paid. And I appreciate that in the past I got items I wouldn’t have tried otherwise.
I know what you really care about is the value and what is inside so here ya go! Total Value: ~$174. In 2017 the value of my box was approx $211 and in 2018 it was $180.
